You know what, Tumblr? To hell with it! Hell I say! I will post multiple photographs of my face ‘cause my scars are fancy as fuck.
what’s the meaning for her? i allways look at this things very spiritualy, if it doesn’t have a meaning is just a lil stupid, fashion banalizes everyting
Um, no. People are not obliged to list the meanings behind how they choose to modify themselves just so you can decide it’s not ‘stupid’ and ‘fashion’. The motivations for modifying oneself are pretty often something that people aren’t comfortable talking about in public and that doesn’t diminish them in the slightest.
Ruby chose to scar her face because… she chose to scar her face. It looks wonderful and fits her perfectly and that is all.
Personally, I don’t talk about what my tattoos or scars mean because they are deeply personal choices I made for myself and frankly it’s not anyone’s business apart from the few people I am closest to.
^^^^
not only is this an incredibly beautiful piece of scarification work, but this rant about motives for modifications couldn’t be any more on point.
Yep.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE DEEP INTENSE MEANINGS OR BELIEFS TO JUSTIFY CHANGING YOUR OWN BODY.
If you think that it’s stupid that someone doesn’t have a reason (read: excuse) to get something done, then that’s cool. Keep that opinion to yourself. It’s my body, and the beauty of that is that it’s my body and I can do whatever I damn well please to it.
Surprise, Suprise, Tumblverse…the vast majority of the things I have done to my body have very little to no meaning behind them other than fostering my love for art, creativity, individuality, and whatever else I happen to like at the time. If something does have deep and personal inspiration behind it, I’d probably still just keep it to myself (because it’s personal, duh). Disappointed? Sorry, not sorry. Don’t need to hear what you want (want, not have) to say about it!
how much $20 of weed gets you.
